Randy Caputo Jazz Legend

Looking Back:

When Randy was just three years old, a car accident landed him in the hospital for months with trauma to his head, hands and legs. Doctors said Randy would always have difficulty with his small-motor (hands and legs) coordination.

Randy dreamed of the day when he could play ball, and run like the other kids. His mother, determined to help, got him a set of drums. (She was so very smart)

Against all odds, Randy continued to practice his drums. Determined, Randy eventually overcame all his adversities even to the point of sounding like his jazz drumming idol Gene Krupa.

The rest… (so they say)…is history…

To Date:

Randy has been entertaining audiences everywhere with his celebrity showmanship, and remarkable jazz drumming talents.

With his quick wit and personality (sometimes using his voice-over talents), Randy lights up any stage, anywhere.

Through his own life’s experience in his Randy’s Thoughts on Metaphysics, (Drumming Seminars) Randy helps children and adults overcome adversities, and motivate them to achieve his or her success.

Randy has received countless standing ovations at both Disneyland and Disney World Florida, and at other special events including…

The Chicago Winds Jazz Orchestra in Chicago, Playboy Jazz Festivals and PBS Shows in Hollywood California.

Randy has been featured in the Orange County Register Newspapers,

and numerous times in Modern Drummer Magazine, Vintage Drummer Magazine and Drum Pro Magazine.

Most Recently:

Randy was the featured clinician and motivational speaker at The Hollywood Vintage Drum Show in Los Angeles, and has lead numerous clinics for schools and plays an active roll in raising funds for music educational programs.

Randy was the guest celebrity drummer, for The Orange County Musician’s Union Bash 2006, appearing as Gene Krupa in Anaheim California.

And Now:

President and Founder Bruce Klauber of JazzLegonds.com has inducted Randy Caputo to the “Jazz Legends Hall Of Fame”…

Now that’s not bad for a kid who was told he would always have physical challenges.

There’s little wonder why Randy always says…

Without dreams, there wouldn’t be reality”

"Randy Caputo appears to be channeling Gene Krupa at times, but he does it with such disarming good humor that it quickly becomes obvious that he’s out there to entertain and have a good time… Technically, of course, he's got the Krupa licks and looks down. There are a number of things Caputo plays that would have been, I believe, beyond Gene in a technical sense, but Randy weaves them appropriately in and out of the Krupa-oriented whole, and his concept works. Randy, you're all right. God bless and keep swingin'"

-Bruce Klauber, Jazz Legends.com

To watch Randy play is like watching the man who started it all, the legendary drummer Gene Krupa
